Company History
Orion HealthCorp, Inc., was conceived in 2004 from three distinct but bright founding companies - Integrated Physician Solutions (IPS), DCPS and Medical Billing Services, Inc (MBS). IPS is an experienced and innovative provider of business and practice management services exclusively dedicated to supporting the needs of primary care and sub-specialty pediatric practices. MBS is the largest billing and practice management company in the Houston area and specializes in hospital-based physician group practices, with emphasis on Pathology, Anesthesiology and Radiology. While these three independent companies achieved impressive levels of success singularly, the synergy of creating a broader array of services to physicians was the driving force in this merger.
Through a series of subsequent acquisitions, Orion HealthCorp continued to bolster its solutions with an eye towards becoming the premier medical billing, collections and business management services company.
In 2006, Orion acquired Rand Medical Billing and On-Line Alternatives, Inc (OLA). Rand was founded in California in 1985 with the focus on billing exclusively for Pathologists and provided Orion with the opportunity to sharply increase its presence on the West Coast. OLA has been in business since 1973 in Mobile, Alabama, and offers billing and collection services for both hospital and office-based physicians.
Two years later, Orion completed the acquisition of two outstanding companies: RMI Physician Services and Western Skies Practice Management. RMI is a medical billing and physician practice management company created in 1994 that specializes in radiology billing and collections. Western Skies provides the highest quality medical and physician billing in the Denver, Colorado area and has over 22 years of experience in multiple specialties. Adding RMI and Western Skies to the family of Orion companies expanded the market domination in Houston and led the company into a new market in Denver.
Today, with nearly 700 employees and locations across the United States, Orion HealthCorp is positioned to lead the industry by providing superior business and financial management services that result in optimal profitability for clients and maximized enterprise value for stakeholders.
